Some of my Opinions About Trump

This isn’t an argument. These are my beliefs after much study, reflection and prayer. Negative comments will be deleted. I respect other people’s opinions, and I just scroll past them when I disagree. Social Media isn’t going to change too many people’s opinions. I’m sharing to let others who believe like I do, know that they’re not alone!
I guess Putin isn’t really Trump’s good ol’ buddy after all. I’m shocked that anyone believed that he was in the first place.
A dictator like Putin laughs at Trump’s arrogance, and his “Art of the Deal”, while squeezing as much Ukrainian blood as he can out of it, while at the same time alienating our Allies.
Somehow Trump and his supporters thought that he was intimidating and/or charming enough to actually get a deal done with Putin. He played right into the Russian disinformation. I’m sure Putin is really threatened by a man who was deferred from service for a bone spur….
The only thing that Trump has ever gotten out of Russia is the money to bail him out of his bankruptcies in the 1990’s and probably leverage over him as a result.
In the meantime, the fantasy that he could “end this war on day one!” has been bought into, and then has had excuses made for it since he took office. All the while allowing Ukrainian civilians to be slaughtered, and the victims of Russian aggression being turned into the perpetrators?
The rest of the world knows who the aggressor is, and what his agenda has been. How have Americans been so blind? (Rhetorical question)
Many Americans have eaten up the Russian propaganda, while the rest of the democratic world, our allies, have been stunned and betrayed. They laugh at us and then they cry, because they have always been able to depend on America, since the first World War, through the second, then the Cold War, and beyond.
We’ve always been solid, reliable partners and now nobody knows what to think about us. Not just with the war but with the economy, immigration, stopping all foreign aid, and more.
They don’t trust us with intelligence, for fear that those secrets will be revealed to enemies.
“America First” has become “America Alone”, and it endangers our country on so many levels.
We’ve cut off the legs of our “boots on the ground” that monitor diseases, and gather intelligence information. Yes, we gave aid but it was those same agencies that developed relationships with foreign countries, to develop intelligence gathering information, and also the scientists that were front line workers for diseases like Ebola, HIV/AIDS, Covid, Bird Flu, and others that we may have never even heard of, because they were caught and contained in time!
We’ve potentially endangered Americans who travel to other nations because of our treatment of their citizens. Why should they welcome Americans when we stop teachers, teenagers, business people, etc., in our airports and detain them in facilities until returning them to their native countries? Story after story has come out about this and his supporters either don’t hear about it, or don’t care.
So many issues in such a very short time. These don’t even include the domestic issues that are threatening democracy here, like the discussion of suspending Habeas Corpis, or ignoring judges orders about mass deportations. Attacking higher education, and science, cutting social safety nets that help our most vulnerable people (including many MAGA supporters!).
Removing regulations and agencies that “We the People” sent representatives to Congress to create, in order to protect us from many dangers that unregulated companies have been know to perpetrate, when they have no constraints or oversight, and many other issues.
We could debate issues one by one but in my opinion, the greatest threat is our position on the World stage and what Trump has done to our credibility and security.
People keep talking about Biden’s age and decline, but I don’t see anyone doing the same about Trump.
Anyone who has watched their parents or elderly family members go through this can see what I’m about to tell you. We also own a medical supply business and see it happening in family after family!
We all go from diapers to diapers and every stage in between. My Father In Law was a brilliant businessman who started the first Savings and Loan in NE Florida, and many other banks throughout the region. There was no question about his abilities and intelligence.
Then he got old. By the time he was about 84 years old, I would joke that he had become an “84 year old, 4 year old!” He was petulant and argumentative. Everything was about him and he would even get jealous of his grandchildren for taking attention from him.
It wasn’t his fault, and after that stage he became the sweetest man we had ever known him to be! That doesn’t negate the facts of aging though.
Trump has always been self centered and a self promoter. Having people practically worshipping him has made it even worse, but the bottom line is that he is making “temper tantrum decisions” that effect us all, in very negative ways, and his supporters are making excuses for him, just like Biden’s did in his time in the White House.
The biggest difference is that Biden wasn’t really doing anything…. That’s not necessarily a good thing, but at least he wasn’t leaving behind a trail of destruction, like Trump is.
I do believe that we WILL regret this time in our Nation’s history, when we look back on it. It’s already going to take many, many years to build trust in the world again, if we ever want to try… I mean really, we turned on Canada? Canada!
We’re not playing a game of Risk and deciding what territory we want to take next! This is not a child’s game but an elderly child is playing it like it is…
I know that God knows the End from the Beginning, and knew that this time would come. It’s difficult to see so much deception now though. All I can do is share my thoughts on it. Social Media won’t change too many minds, but I try to do it in a loving way, and I pray for us ALL daily. I also know that I’m not alone in my thinking.
I love God (My Heavenly Father, lead by His Holy Spirit, through His Son Jesus) and then I love ALL Others that He brings into my life. That’s my “religion”. In doing those two most important commandments that Jesus explained to the Religious Leaders of His day, it has changed a lot of my politics and doctrinal positions over the last many years. I appreciate that, even if it was caused by a disease process that demanded that I stop everything else.
